At Mind Body Connection we utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Mindfulness practices to augment traditional talk therapy. There are many resources available to describe CBT as well as Mindfulness both of which are evidence-based interventions that have become the first line of treatment for most mental health conditions. 

In our practice, we integrate both Mindfulness and CBT as well as other modalities such as Virtual Reality Therapy and Biofeedback. We believe that both the mind and the body play an integral part in the expression and manifestation of symptoms for any mental or physical health conditions. Therefore, integrating a Mind-Body approach leads to the most effective outcomes that tend to be sustainable and promote overall well-being.

Mindfulness is the ability to become aware of our senses, thoughts, feelings, and physical presence which allows us to be fully present in the moment to attend to whatever maybe occurring in the moment. It is truly the easiest and the most challenging things to do but also the best way to overcome mental and physical hurdles that trouble us moment to moment. It is truly a gift to give to yourself, by cultivating the ability to be present, available, and observant and tolerant of ourselves. This awareness can then allow us to truly understand ourselves in relation to both external and internal influences on our state of being.

Many people confuse mindfulness with meditation and sitting still, which is a form of mindfulness. However, there are several avenues to being mindful and therefore it is a resource for all ages and many mental and physical conditions. Mindfulness is also a practice which leads to a way of being, and in order to become more present and mindful a traditional CBT approach can be beneficial. CBT and Mindfulness truly work well together and are supported by extensive research. Approaches that improve a mindful state of being truly improve both mind-body and spirit and can have lasting impact on overall well-being.
