Dr. Kommu is the founder of Mind Body Connection, Inc. She is a licensed clinical psychologist with a keen interest in mind body interventions. Since the beginning of her practice she has strived to offer compassionate, empathic, and mindful support to her clients. Her research interests include incorporating mind body interventions along with technology to alleviate pain, improve sleep and reduce hypertension and improve overall mental and physiological well-being.

Dr. Kommu is also a supervisor and has second and third year doctoral students in training assisting her to offer compassionate, and supportive services along with her.

Meet Bryant Sigler (2021-2022). Psychology extern

Bryant is a third-year doctoral student studying clinical psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. As a master’s prepared extern, Bryant joins Mind Body Connection with an integrative theoretical orientation rooted in evidence-based interventions and best practice approaches. His approach to the client-clinician relationship is collaborative and one that draws upon the innate strengths of each individual seeking services. This allows for a more personalized therapeutic journey that is tailored to the dynamic needs and goals of each unique client. 

Bryant’s research and clinical practice interests include mental health integration in the primary care setting, management of patients with chronic conditions, weight loss and healthy lifestyle, and mindfulness and relaxation strategies. He holds student affiliations with the American Psychological Association and the American Academy of Clinical Psychology. Bryant was also chosen to serve as the Student Representative for the Society for Health Psychology on his school’s campus, which includes promoting a more comprehensive awareness of the psychological aspects of health, illness, and overall wellbeing.  

Meet Ramya Kommu

Ramya Kommu is a senior at George Mason University studying Psychology with a concentration in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience. She plans to go to graduate school next year for Clinical Health Psychology. She is currently a research assistant for a human factors psychology lab on campus. Ramya is currently in the process of getting certified in Biofeedback and Mental Health First Aid. She works part time at Innovative Physical Therapy.

She currently assists Dr. Kommu with office administration and other research projects. She has been an integral part of assisting in the Pilot Study Body Awareness program in late summer of 2021.
